Closing ceremony of the International Conference „The Best in Heritage 2018”
28 September 2018 – Minister of Culture, dr. sc. Nina Obuljen Koržinek took part on Friday 28 September 2018 to the award ceremony for the „2018 Project of Influence“ in the framework of the Conference „The Best in Heritage“ in Dubrovnik.
At the closing ceremony of the International Conference „The Best in Heritage 2018”, the Minister of Culture welcomed the participants with great pleasure since this year Conference took place in the year of celebrating the European Year of Cultural Heritage. She apologised for not being present at the opening, stating as the reason the adoption of the Law on amendments to the Law on protection and conservation of cultural goods, adopted today.
„The adopted Law is of exceptional value, and my coming here today is in the spirit of a consensus reached in the field of conservation and work on cultural heritage, which is welcome in all other cultural institutions as well“, said the Minister.
She also emphasized that the Conference was an opportunity to acknowledge good examples of projects in the museum and cultural heritage area, as these examples are also a source of inexhaustible inspiration. The Minister congratulated everyone as they demonstrated great achievements just by being there, the organizational team led by professor Tomislav Šola for their diligent work and the support of Europa Nostra and ICOM.
At the end of the closing ceremony “Historic Royal Palaces „The Lost Palace" was proclaimed the best Project of Influence in the category „Imagines“, while Textiel Museum in Tilburg in The Netherlands was proclaimed the best Project of Influence in the category „The Best in Heritage“.
The Conference „The Best in Heritage 2018” was organised from 26 to 28 September 2018 in partnership between Europa Nostra and the International Council of Museums (ICOM) under the auspices and with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia and the City of Dubrovnik.
